Russian President Vladimir Putin said bilateral relations have worsened since Donald Trump took over the presidency in the United States.
Putin said today in his interview on the Russian Mir 24 TV television that after evaluating relations with the United States, "the level of confidence in co-operation, especially at military level, has worsened worse," after Trump's coming to power.
Putin once again rejected the Syrian government's alleged use of chemical weapons in the bombardment of Khan Sheikh town in Idlib province of Syria, where 87 people lost their lives.

- Trump's unclear foreign policy could bring disaster
Putin responded to a question about the Syrian government's claim to use chemical weapons in the province of Idlib, saying that Damascus completely abandoned chemical weapons.
Putin said, "Where is the evidence of the Syrian army using chemical weapons?" ... he said, "But it is a fact that the international law is violated", the US said about the missile attack on retaliation.
Earlier, US officials had no doubt that the Syrian government was attacking chemical weapons, and that Russia was probably aware of the attack.
'There are two possibilities'
Putin noted that there may be two possibilities for the attack on Idlib and the US that many western countries are accusing the Syrian government.
According to the Russian president, the first possibility is that a chemical weapons stockpile of rebellion bombarded by Syrian government aircraft has been shot and the spread of poisonous gases from here.
Putin's second possibility is that it is a fake chemical attack scenario designed to scare the Syrian government.
While Russia's leader is making these statements, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's visit to Moscow continues.
The Kremlin spokesman, President Putin, said he could come together with
Tillerson later in the day.
Tense diplomacy
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson started his contacts in Moscow today with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, while the two countries carried out a tough word for alleged assaults on chemical weapons in Syria.
Tillerson, the first senior official to visit Moscow from the Trump administration, said they are aiming for "open, sincere, honest opinion exchange".
Tillerson spoke of the need to clarify differences of opinion as well as partnerships:
"We have an important milestone in our relationship today, so that we can clarify our common goals and common interests, including situations where our tactical approaches may be different." In addition, we should be able to clarify areas in which we have a sharp viewpoint that we can better understand the causes of these differences. "
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said Moscow hopes to learn Washington's "real intentions" through this visit and said it is "vital" in preventing new "illegal" US attacks in Syria.
"The timing of your visit is very good," Lavrov told Tillerson, and he noted that the visit gives the opportunity to "clarify the possibility of cooperation in the formation of a broad anti-terrorist front" between the two sides.
